Yesterday it was time for me to color my hair again. To be blond is not an easy job! I have never colored my hair as often as now. Anyways, I need to take care of this nice color (also my hair :D) as best as I can. To keep up with all these I need to have special shampoo and conditioner. I have bought Redken Extreme line ( Redken Extreme Anti-Snap , Lipids/Proteins).
Redken Extreme Line is to repair colored and damaged hair. When you color your hair to lighter shades you need to treat your hair with protein. However, extreme use of protein will effect your hair reversely too and make your hair brittle and fuzzy. In addition, to keep up the cold tone of your hair you need to use purple tone shampoo (silver shampoo) to avoid your hair color turn brassy.

I have used Redken label before and I have been very satisfied with them. But they are a bit expensive, that is why I stopped using them after some while. Now I feel I really need them again. I want to have shiny and healthy hair which Redken made it possible in past. So my search for cheaper Redken began!

I found cheaper Redken on internet. I found Amazon (god bless Amazon) have salon-size shampoo even cheaper. The difference in prices in various websites is crazy! On Amazon I could have got even free shipping which was not the case for the British based websites. In any case I have got my Redken shampoo a lot cheaper compared also to Swedish websites.

I renewed my hair-extensions yesterday. It went very well. Here I want to talk about some of the drawbacks of hair-extension. If you want to get a hair-extension for the first time you should know some facts beforehand.

1- It is really painful the first few days after getting an extension. Specially when you want to sleep on them. It feels like something (the wax) is going through the skin of your head. However, it will go away after 2-3 days. So do not forget that having your head on the pillow is a real challenge for about 2-3 days.

2- When you want to remove them it will be lots of work for the hairdresser. Do not remove them at home. There is a technique which makes it a lot easier to take them out. It took more than an hour for my haidresser to take all my extensions out (about 140 of them).

3- Brushing your hair will not be the same. You can brush your hair for sure but the wax at the roots will make it nearly impossible.

4- Having hair-extensions puts lots of tension on your hair. What happens as a result of that tension, I do not know. My hairdresser has had her extensions for 5 years now. She says nothing has went wrong but who knows for sure!

In the end having extensions is lots of fun. I think it is worth it.
